20 years of democracy

South Africa has just elected the 4th President after the fall of apartheid and the day before the Inauguration of President Jacob Zuma for his second term the Air Force did a rehearsal of the fly past of all planes for the celebrations. The new 9m statue of former President Nelson Mandela at the foot of the Union Buildings just gave me the idea of shooting silhouette images with the sun at a very awkward place and all proceedings were to start around 11:15.

The rise of Julius Malema and EFF

The expelled ANC youth league leader Julius Malema was left in political darkness for a while until he started the Economic Freedom Fighters better known as the EFF. He was very critical of the current ANC government during his campaign. He also managed a seat in Parliament even though he has an outstanding tax bill of R16 million.

South African National Archery Championship 2014

The 64th South African National Archery Championship held at Marks Park, Johannesburg. SANAA is also the National Federation for Archery in South Africa. The year has seen the largest field of competitiors yet.
